How people plan travel
We are conducting this survey to understand how people make travel decisions, and to use that research to develop a personalised travel recommendation engine.
There are no right answers. We are interested in what you would genuinely do, not what sounds sensible.
- Time needed
- 5–7 minutes
- Questions
- 57, mostly multiple choice
- Anonymity
- No sign-in and no name asked for
- Payment
- ₹10–50, by the quality of the response
Everyone who finishes honestly is paid at least ₹10. The amount above that reflects how much thought the answers show — whether the questions were read, and whether the choices hold together. Careful responses are paid up to ₹30; the ₹50 end is reserved for the exceptional few. Rushing lowers it, but so does sitting on a question without answering it — there is nothing to game here.
Starting the survey means you agree to take part. You can stop at any point, and nothing is submitted until you press Submit at the end.
What we collect
- Your answers to the questions in this survey
- How long you spend on each question, and when you change an answer
- Whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and your screen size
- Your network (IP) address and some basic details about your browser, used to check that the survey is only taken once
- Which link brought you here, if any
- A UPI id, if you choose to give one at the end so that we can pay you
What we never collect
- Your name, email address, postal address, date of birth or government ID
- Card or bank details — a UPI id is the only payment detail we ask for, and only at the end
- Your contacts, camera, microphone or clipboard
- Your precise location — we never ask for it and never request location access
- What you type outside the answer boxes
Your responses are used for academic research and are reported only in aggregate. Taking part is voluntary and you may stop at any time. Read the full privacy notice.
